A quick guide to CBD, and what you need to know about each of the three primary types
There are three primary types of CBD: full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate. Each of these have slight differences from each other, and in this article we will quickly help you tell the difference between them all.
Type #1 - Full-Spectrum CBD
This is the first type of CBD - it contains all the beneficial compounds found in cannabis plants, including the following:
Cannabinoids: A type of chemical in marijuana that causes drug-like effects all through the body, including the central nervous system and the immune system. The main active cannabinoid in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Cannabinoids may help treat the symptoms of cancer or the side effects of cancer treatment (NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms).
Terpenes: Aromatic compounds found in many plants, though many people commonly associate them with cannabis because cannabis plants contain high concentrations of them (Medical News Today).
Flavonoids: Flavonoids are various compounds found naturally in many fruits and vegetables (Healthline)
Type #2 - Broad-Spectrum CBD
Broad-Spectrum CBD is very similar to Full-Spectrum CBD, in that they contain almost every compound found in the cannabis plant - there is usually one big compound missing, THC.
"There are also plenty of benefits of using broad-spectrum CBD specifically. These products can give you access to potentially beneficial compounds like terpenes. Terpenes are aromatic compounds naturally found in many different types of plants, including cannabis." – Healthline
Type #3 - CBD Isolate
CBD isolate does not contain any other cannabis plant compounds (as compared to the above). CBD isolate more often than not comes from hemp plans, which already are found with a substantially small amount of THC. Another important things to note about CBD isolate is that it comes in the form of crystals.
To sum up, the three main types of CBD are:
Full-spectrum CBD
Broad-spectrum CBD
CBD isolate

Informative, thanks. Would the H4CBD be closer to a full-spectrum then? Just hydrogenated?
